Our Trip to Key West - Sept 2008

My buddy Brad who lives in Alabama has been threatening to come to Florida and visit me for a number of years. Well he finally showed up the last part of Sept 2008. I've known Brad for a number of years but had never met him, we're both former Marines and you know the rest or that. The problem being is I scared him from bringing his bike, he has a Jap bike and I kept telling him we burn Jap bikes down here in Florida so he didn't want to take a chance just in case I wasn't joking. hell I've had a few of them. As long as it has 2 wheels and can keep up with the rest of us I could give a rats ass.  so when he got here he had to rent one. We got him a really nice new 2008 Heritage only had a few miles on it. Now Brad has never ridden a Harley before so he was a tad bit nervous so of course he took all the insurance the dealer could give him. He didn't need it. Now after riding this Harley, Brad's already told me he will have one soon.

Anyway we left my house and headed to my bro's house down in Davie. Lee (Wildcat) and Johnny were heading to Key West with us. We went out to Lake O first and hit Highway 27 to Davie. Got to Lee's place and spent the night. Got up Saturday morning and shit the sky was all grey and nasty. Of course it hadn't rained for week before this trip. We left and it rained three quarters of the way to Key West.

To make a long story short we had a great time on the ride thru both rain and shine. If you've never taken you bike to the Keys and ridden the Seven Mile bridge then you're missing a part of biking. I think every Florida biker has done that at least once. I try and do it every few years.
