Leesburg Bike Fest 2006
If you didn't make it you missed one of Florida's 3rd
largest bike events.
Predictions from local papers estimated that this year,
100,000 motorcycles would cruise the streets. Well they
were wrong between 125,000 to 150,000 motorcycles left
their tire tracks on the streets of Leesburg and well
over 30 million dollars were spent.
About 10 a.m. Saturday morning Gravedigger and I knocked
on Bikers hotel door and got the bikes on the road and
headed to Leesburg. The temp was in the mid 80's, what a
great day for a ride and a day to enjoy the bike
events. When we got to Main Street in Leesburg, we could
see nothing but parked motorcycles of every kind on both
sides of the street and a line right down the center for
as far as the eye could see. We found a place to park,
band's where playing good old rock and roll, vendors
selling everything from leathers, tee's, jewelry, boots,
just so many things it would take an hour to tell you
about them. Leesburg has open beverage law on the days
of the Bike Fest, food vendors, and it was never hard to
find a place to deposit all that liquid. They also let

Daytona now a days. Check out the pics. If you get a
chance make a date an plan a day of fun.

I want to thank Gravedigger and BlackRose for their hospitality over the weekend at Leesburg BikeFest. They put me up, feed me and I could not ask for anything else from great friends such as they are. It was a great weekend and I'm looking forward to seeing them again soon. One day I will be able to reciprocate their hospitality. Thanks guys for everything. Biker |
