            The Black Widow Chopper

I am always looking for the best Custom Bikes to bring to you and this one really caught my eye. I give you the Black Widow.  This unique creation was designed and fabricated by Paul Teutul Jr. of Orange County Choppers, in Rock Tavern, New York.

The very creative work of Teutul and his team has been seen coast-to-coast on the Discovery Channel.  Now you can check them out for yourself.  Orange County Choppers will be the star of a new show called American Choppers.  The new series will begin airing in late march 2003 on the Discovery Channel, offering 13-episodes.  The first two hours will be filled with the building of this beautiful bike.

Paul finds spiders to be very fascinating with their delicate dance of web spinning that  is not only a wonder but a masterful work of art.  Thus came forth the idea and challenge to recreate nature in this spectacular master piece.

Although many custom bikes are incredible to look at many only have a 1-inch ground clearance making them unable to ride.  For Paul, with each new theme bike remains the same idea, to build bikes that can be ridden, also function as motorcycles and  The Black Widow does just that.

The Black Widow bike was put together in one month while every detail was filmed.  Starting with a very standard chopper motorcycle with a H&L Gladiator model engine, 127 cubic inch displacement, DaVinci Carb, MGS Exhaust and a Softail-style frame with Air Ride suspension.

The Black Widow 's color scheme is made up of Candy Apple Red and Black with special paint graphics by Wet Coats.  The webbing is made from cold-rolled round bar hand formed and finished off with Big Bear Chopper Grips, Wicked Image Mirrors, Arlen-Ness Headlight, HiTech Products Taillight, Rowe Machining wheels, HHI Brakes and Metzeler Tires resulting in a beautiful work of art valued at $175,000.

For more information on this bike and other theme bikes created by Paul Teutul and Orange County Choppers and look for them on the Discovery Channel.

Until next time.
